Teacher personality

The word personality comes from the Latin ‘persona’ and is an abstract definition – the collectively-defined individuality. The Latin ‘persona’ described the mask that was carried by the actor on the ancient Greek scene. Through the mask speaks tribal voice and the performer acts the cultural mainstream and more important for the community rather than to him individually interesting.

The individual’s character is individually characterizing patterns that all components and activities of the psyche represents the individual. Character comes from the Greek ‘kharakter’ which means ‘hallmark’.

I think it’s important to reflect about own teacher personality. Knowing yourself and having a firm standpoint in a field where you meet different people with different needs is a strength. It is not easy to teach and as a teacher there is already a lot of responsibility to the people you teach. To make this task easier for yourself, you “just” have to be yourself.
